Marc Faber's comment on USA!

by wiredbeats on July 31, 2008

Dr. Marc Faber concluded his monthly bulletin with the following:
The federal government is sending each of us a $600 rebate.
If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money goes to China.
If we spend it on gasoline it goes to the Arabs. If we buy a computer it will go to India.
If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.
If we purchase a good car it will go to Germany.
If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in US. I’ve been doing my part.’

Taxi Taxi : Sakkarakatti by AR Rahman

by wiredbeats on July 14, 2008

Heres a 100% chart buster from Rahman’s latest. Latin beats is totally in these days. Ever since that track Impacto got into every car and club, the one-two beat has been used by every band that had a Spanish twang and this time its A R Rahman.  The latest (potential) chart buster from Rahman from his new movie ‘Sakkarakatti’ (Tamil for Sugar Cube as in ” My sugar..!!”) is brilliantly programmed. Latin beat with real thick baseline and some awesome singing!

Check it out

Vandemataram – The Krafted Konscious mix

by wiredbeats on July 14, 2008

It was August 1997 when I remember roaming frantically around the city to pick up a CD of AR Rahman’s Vandemataram. It was an important activity I HAD to accomplish on a Sunday morning, when most stores were closed. I bought a copy by paying extra cash! And when I returned home and hit the play button,
I was blown.

I am still blown.

I think the album is one of the ‘must haves’. It reminded the urbane about the Indian national song. Rahman had conducted two versions of the original while his own track ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ became a sort of a cult track. I have never heard a track like Maa Tujhe Salaam and perhaps I never will.
One of the tracks in the album is Vandemataram itself. The redone version of the original, composed by Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay. Rahman has with great respect preserved the integrity of such an important song.

For me, the temptation to play around with the track was irresistible. However, I did not want to add layers of mixed tracks just for the heck of it. It is Vandemataram for gods sake! I think I have finally figured out the ‘right sound’ for mixing Vandemataram.
I present my version of the great instrumental track from Rahman’s Album. Please consider my humble presentation of Vandemataram – Revival. I call it my Krafted Konscious Mix. Lead your ears, here and you may download the track if you choose too.   If you like Karunesh, Morning Raga or fusion music, you will love this.

  • Track – Vandemataram – Wiredbeats Krafted Koncious Mix
  • Derived from – Vandemataram – Revival
  • Genre – Lounge/Fusion

I can really use your comments here for this is a real dicey attempt!
