Google Crome Vs Flock Vs IE 8

by wiredbeats on September 2, 2008

No analysis here folks. Just a first hand report of how IE 8 behaves along with the new kid on the block – Its called Flock. Flock is a Firefox 3.0 remixed with lotsa bells and whistles of social networking. Its really cool to be honest and can actually kick Firefox in the wrong places if 3.1 does come with some Web 2.0 gimmics.

I find IE 8 faster and it has this cool ‘Private browsing mode’ which i prefer to refer as ‘Porn mode’. The porn mode in IE 8 is just a cookie deleter if you will. Nothing gets stored and no will know what you browsed. No othet browser has this and for a change Microsoft bought something original. IE 8 loads faster and is lighter (appears so). Few good observations of IE 8

  • Porn mode or the Private browsing mode
  • You don’t have disable/enable proxy setting all the time. The browser seems to know everything
  • A crash is limited to a tab and not the whole goddam browser
  • Remembers previous sessions and can load them for you – Firefox huh!
  • Newbies like Accelerators which give you quick content
  • Few more for you to discover

Flock Browser

  • Damn cool
  • Very Innovative and lot of Social networking stuff on your fingertips
  • Blogging is a breeze
  • And so is Picasa,Flickr,Facebook etc etc
  • Runs on stable Firefox 3 engine
  • All Firefox add-ons dont work
  • Not many Flock add-ons are available as yet

Google Crome

  • Goes by the fact that today most websites are applications – Ajax etc..
  • Best browser for Web 2.0
  • Simple and built from scratch
