A Review – Rahman's new album – Connections

by wiredbeats on January 24, 2009

thiruvalluvarLast few months has been raining AR Rahman. Great music  ,Golden Globe Awards and Oscar Nominations. We have heard the western classical renditions in Yuvaraaj, peppy teen tracks on Jaane Tu.., commercial masala in Gajini and fusion in Slumdog Millionaire.

We now have  the awesome variety in Delhi-6. However, I am not going to talk about Delhi 6.It has a ‘must buy’ tag on it already. Let me divert your attention to a hidden treasure in Rahman’s new album – Connections.

This is mind-numbingly superb album that calms you, makes your brain cooler and infuses positive energy.

What is AR Rahman really good at? Arziyan from Delhi 6…

by wiredbeats on January 15, 2009

I ask myself several times. What is AR Rahman really good at? Yes he composes great music and recently he became the first Indian to win the Golden Globe Awards for his sound track in Slumdog Millionaire. Needless to say, i am a huge fan of AR and i have all his CDs released till date.

For someone like me who has ARR’s tracks on fingertips, i have asked myself the fundamental question of what he does best in music. I did answer this question several times and i am convinced that AR Rahman is best when he does a devotional sufi track. There is a devine aura to the manner he treats a devotional track, which is usually missing in his dance hall creations. [click to continue...]
