You have all heard it. Danced to it perhaps. Celebrated it for sure. This is Jai Ho the latest and most likely an anthem that is not likely to go away for the many many years. For these two words that got us the first Academy Award for music for AR Rahman.
“Jai Ho” , these two words are resonating in every corner of our country. Be it a cricket commentary, Lok Sabha in politics, Business discussions or even general public sentiment. The spirit of victory has a new metaphor.

Now, ever since Rahman got the two academy awards, you guys asked me how come i never came out with a remix of “Jai Ho”. I got 48 emails to be precise asking the same question. ” How come you did not release your remix of what is today one of the world’s most popular international track”. Well, 48 out of at least 5600 of you is not bad a ratio for this request. It is just that i did not want to touch a class act of rhythm with several awards under its belt. [click to continue...]

The Consortium of Pub-going, Loose and Forward Women had recently launched a funny yet compelling campaign to send pink underwears to a radical group called Sri Ram Sena as a mark to oppose the sena’s views on ‘urban youth behavior. The sena folks are of the view that the Indian urban youth is foolish and indulges in activities that are against Hindu culture, or culture itself. They even beat up innocent women in an innocent pub few weeks ago in Mangalore,India.
I love the campaign and i strongly support the consortium. Since i don’t wear pink panties, the only other way i thought of showing my support is by releasing a lovey-dovey mix for the folks who believe in the spirit of life. I call my mix the ‘Pink Chaddi Mix’ for obvious reasons.
Do download this 37Mins of non-stop dance anthems specially mixed to celebrate the true spirit behind the Valentines Day. And by spirit i don’t mean beers and wines. Do plug in your CD player to this party starter and show a finger to the so called protectors of Hindu culture. Now Lingerie has a new purpose. [click to continue...]

I tried something totally new. A 100% pure World music track! and i think i am getting there to understand the nuances of World music. I don’t think it is all about tribal chants and wierd instruments. World music is a vast spectrum of sounds and scapes. I am starting to seriously study world music. The aspects of downtempo beats, the dark pads and surround mixing can create a magical theme.
My first attempt in this direction is called ‘Tribe Thoughts’ ( don’t ask how i choose names!). I will appreciate your feedback
