Call it a stroke of inspiration or just plain desperation, i had to complete a very tough track which i set out to mix few weeks ago. Its called ‘Rehna Tu, from the OST of Delhi 6. A classic love song sung by Rahman. The track as a Blues rhythm with a very strong and slow R&B groove. A very unique combo that has fit so well that it sounds very fresh. What makes Rehna Tu all the more unique is the god level programing by Rahman’s team introducing solo string interludes and stanzas picking up in a manner that is no longer blues and eventually getting back to the original genre. Brilliant. Simply brilliant!!

This track tempted me to try a mix for a new mood. I introduced a rather pop skewed reggae groove to this brilliant sound track and placed a brand new interlude with solo spanish guitar samples. Something i have been struggling to program since the last 10 days or so. [click to continue...]
