Rehna Tu : The Dedication Mix ( Delhi 6)

by wiredbeats on March 1, 2009

Delhi 6Call it a stroke of inspiration or just plain desperation, i had to complete a very tough track which i set out to mix few weeks ago. Its called ‘Rehna Tu, from the OST of Delhi 6. A classic love song sung by Rahman. The track as a Blues rhythm with a very strong and slow R&B groove. A very unique combo that has fit so well that it sounds very fresh. What makes Rehna Tu all the more unique is the god level programing by Rahman’s team introducing solo string interludes and stanzas picking up in a manner that is no longer blues and eventually getting back to the original genre. Brilliant. Simply brilliant!!

This track tempted me to try a mix for a new mood. I introduced a rather pop skewed reggae groove to this brilliant sound track and placed a brand new interlude with solo spanish guitar samples. Something i have been struggling to program since the last 10 days or so.

So here i present ‘ Rehna Tu – The Dedication Mix’ for the the ultimate melody machine who won twin oscars!!

  • Rehna Tu  – The Dedication Mix
  • Mix programming :Me!!
  • Duration : 7:13
  • Genre : Pop
  • Original : From OST Delhi 6
  • Composer : AR Rahman

This mix has a lot of character just like the original track. Seems like you have really worked on it rather than a run of the mill beat festival. Great mix for an ever greater track.

Yes i agree, this is a good mix. its more like a recomposed track keeping rahman's magical track rehna tu. the feel is intact and so is the freshness….

The mix is serious awesomeness. I admire you for the simplicity and catching the essence of every song you mix. I look forward to an album.

I had become one of ur fans after listening to the Rehna Tu track which u have remixed to perfection I shud say..
I am a great fan of music and dont know why I keep wanting for new genres every now and then. Of late I am a big fan of Infected Mushroom tracks and
had been to their concert also..
Jus wanted to know if you have interest in remixing the trance tracks like "Deeply Disturbed" or "Becoming Insane" by Infected Mushroom.. I mean adding some of ur beats to these tracks.. Was hopping that it would be a great one to listen to as ur works and favorites reveal that u dont alter the originality of the tracks that u remix but jus enhance the melody, which is awesome..

Thanks a lot for the remixes that u have been making for us music lovers. They are just rocking..
Keep Rocking..
