333This time for a change you have something different. No dance hall beats driven remixes on Redbull . I present you some of my cover versions of some good compositions. I just happened to recall and discover some unutilized recordings in my keyboard workstation, played sometime last year. Frankly I have no idea why I played them. May be Mr. Budweiser had asked me to. I don’t even remember who all were present when I was playing those tracks. Happens huh!Anyways. [click to continue...]

O Yuva – The Re-energizer Edition ( New and Improved)

by wiredbeats on July 26, 2009

In the year 2004, Mani Ratnam made a film on the impact youth can have on everyday governance. Yuva – the film had a novel idea and a unique style of narration. Accompanied by the awesome score by AR Rahman (now a twin academy award winning composer), the movie did live up to the idea, if not the expectation. The title track of the movie was quite ‘anthemish’ which in my opinion had an early death.
I happen to watch the movie few days ago and thought that the title had so much energy to give out that we could use a second playback. Unable to resist the temptation I attempted a remix of the track with thump and other spices to sort of ‘re-energize’ the sentiment behind the amazing track.
So here I present my latest ‘Oh Yuva – The Re-energizer Edition’. Hope you like it!

YuvaBoxUpdate : I had received many feed backs that the earlier mix although good did not have the ‘X-factor’. The beats were not heavy and some of you said the aggression was lacking big time. I have reworked portions of the mix again and present you this new and improved version. The earlier version clocked about 200 downloads. If you have the older version, dump it and take this. Cuz it certainly has more juice!

Prespectives of Blues

by wiredbeats on July 9, 2009

Every once in a while we get to listen to a movie soundtrack that is unique and blends with the subject. Some notes and pitches that are so perfect for the plot that the marriage between music and the screenplay is just made in heaven. Even if the movie is not so great overall. In recent times, i have found the sound track for the Will Smith starrer Seven Pounds to be absolutely stunning. The thing about Hollywood soundtracks is that its usually very soundscapish. The usage of long pads, with elaborate string arrangements gives a dreamy feel. However, i found the soundtrack of Seven pounds to be very different. It is very mellow and stands at a point that is just right for each scene. The scores are rich but not on your face.
I was deeply moved by the perfection in the soundtrack that i decided to experiment one such arrangement myself. All tough not a symphony, i tried to program a track on the same ‘ feel’ . I found the way to do it in Blues. Blues allows us to remain in the same pitch and playaround with variations. You can have the same drum track and place layers of chords and blues piano to fill the emptiness. Angelo Milli’s soundtrack for Seven Pounds is more or less on the same style. Not blues, but staying within a feel.
I was working on creating my showcase providing demo’s on how i can program tracks of various genres when i happened to watch Seven Pounds. It is then i thought it would be worthwhile to work on a similar theme.
I present you a free track called ” Perspectives of Blues”. A deeply mellow track, nice and easy for you to unwind in absolute peace. This track attains its crescendo rather soon and goes mellow for most part. Hovers around the same range with sporadic spikes of notes that adds to the sound scape it creates. If you like the ambient feel you will like this. Best heard in a surround sound system, the track i present fills the entire spectrum.
Hope you like it.And do do buy Seven pounds soundtrack. and if you like soundtrack go ahead and buy the sound track of “Lost in translation”
