The Mandolin Project Re-invented

by wiredbeats on September 20, 2009

djCouple of years ago i chanced upon this amazing hook played in Mandolin. Very Mexican and very simple. Just a couple of bars and the scale was very peppy. I then made a simple latin track by layering some additional drum tracks and few natural sounding synths. Over the years i picked up more ways of programming and arrangement and based on that i thought if revisiting the same hook.

The earlier mix which i made was adapted well by some DJs and party dudes in many places. Everyone asked me where i found the hook. I still don’t know who made it and where it belongs. Anyways.

So here i present a completely remixed version of the very addictive ‘Mandolin Project’ . I call this ‘The Mandolin Project Re-invented’ . A newer, fresher take on the same hook. This one is very dance hall, sort of trance with a peppy baseline and layers that oscillate  between spaces. Makes a good play.

I hope you guys like it. Do leave your thoughts. If you like then may be i will post the ‘original’ mix here!
