Surprise surprise! To my pleasant surprise one Mr Amith Chandran had forwarded a medley of tracks from the tamil movie Iruvar. Only that this version that he gave was in Malayalam. Iruvar : Kannai Katti Kollathey The Sensibility Mix
Its time to remember another gem of a composition. Kannai Katti track from Iruvar has great lyrics and an amazingly simple arrangement. This song has the lyrics to power it and ofcouse the music to maintain the momentum. I think over years, some of the great tracks get buried in the noise that comes out often through the tamil and bollywood factory. My attempts in recent times has been to sort of remind the visitors to my blog on those tracks that do not deserve a reminder. Chiggy Wiggy The Club Banger Mix
Someone told me that if you really want to make a remix for the club, think like a DJ, feel like a DJ and listen like a ‘Good DJ’. The trouble is i am not of it. I am no DJ and i can’t do turntables to save my life. However, since i know a thing or two about remixing/production i did attempt a ‘DJ kind of remix’ to the latest delivery from A R Rahman. Chiggy Wiggy. I think it it a cute track and the transition to Bhangra from Kylie’s act is seamless, something that only Rahman can pull off. But to be honest, i don’t like the Sonu Nigam portion that much. I think the ‘Classy’ part of the song is gone the moment Bhangra comes in. Not to say Bhangra is not classy, it is!
