Some brainwave this huh! Sometime ago, there was a track of Rod Stewart playing on the radio when i accidently played Rahman’s song Ek Lo Ek Muft from Guru. They both sounded great together, as in the groove of the song changed but the feel was very interesting.
I felt a rock mix of that kind would be great, so decided to give it a shot. Heres how i think a Rock fusion mix of that super original track from Guru sounds like.

There is something to this awesome track by Rahman. It has a certain unique dark feel to it, while portions of it is very reassuring. I guess Raavan OST has one of the most intellectual music done by Rahman. The whole album has lot of depth and required repeated playbacks to find easter eggs and perhaps even themes.
I took my favorite track from Raavan OST and sort of made a dark mix. Just like the original by Rahman, i have tried to retain the warm feel and the dark aura. I don’t know if i achieved it, nonetheless check it out! [click to continue...]

This simple track has all the right elements in place. Good lyrics, great singing and a very simple groove. I just added few elements and bumped the feel to a rather groovy kind. The kind of stuff that say a Rishi Rich project or any of the Indo-Brit producers make, very prominent baselines combined with a nice juicy disco kick beats.
I didn’t take it to the extreme in that direction and stayed closer home to the original. I hope you like this mix!
Original track from the movie : Rhythm (Tamil). Original awesome music by AR Rahman.
