Every once in a while we get to listen to a movie soundtrack that is unique and blends with the subject. Some notes and pitches that are so perfect for the plot that the marriage between music and the screenplay is just made in heaven. Even if the movie is not so great overall. In recent times, i have found the sound track for the Will Smith starrer Seven Pounds to be absolutely stunning. The thing about Hollywood soundtracks is that its usually very soundscapish. The usage of long pads, with elaborate string arrangements gives a dreamy feel. However, i found the soundtrack of Seven pounds to be very different. Prespectives of Blues

In recent times, i have found the sound track for the Will Smith starrer Seven Pounds to be absolutely stunning. The thing about Hollywood soundtracks is that its usually very soundscapish. The usage of long pads, with elaborate string arrangements gives a dreamy feel. However, i found the soundtrack of Seven pounds to be very different. It is very mellow and stands at a point that is just right for each scene. The scores are rich but not on your face.
I was deeply moved by the perfection in the soundtrack that i decided to experiment one such arrangement myself. All tough not a symphony, i tried to program a track on the same ‘ feel’ . I found the way to do it in Blues. Blues allows us to remain in the same pitch and playaround with variations. You can have the same drum track and place layers of chords and blues piano to fill the emptiness. Angelo Milli’s soundtrack for Seven Pounds is more or less on the same style. Not blues, but staying within a feel.
I was working on creating my showcase providing demo’s on how i can program tracks of various genres when i happened to watch Seven Pounds. It is then i thought it would be worthwhile to work on a similar theme.
I present you a free track called ” Perspectives of Blues”. A deeply mellow track, nice and easy for you to unwind in absolute peace. This track attains its crescendo rather soon and goes mellow for most part. Hovers around the same range with sporadic spikes of notes that adds to the sound scape it creates. If you like the ambient feel you will like this. Best heard in a surround sound system, the track i present fills the entire spectrum.
